Conrad Updates and Office Outings

Summer is always a busy period here at Conrad. With our annual summer conference, new starters, sector changes and our commitment to build and maintain relationships with our candidates and clients, it is all go.

So, we thought it was time to update you on what has been happening!

New Starters:

Our Edinburgh office has had two new additions in their team! We would like to introduce you to Connor Sandison and Max Condie.

Connor Sandison is working alongside our Civil and Structural department focusing on recruitment in Scotland. Connor joined our team in 2019, over the past year he worked externally to the business however his passion for recruitment has led him back to Conrad and we are happy to have him back.

Max Condie has also joined our Edinburgh office supporting our Building and Quantity Surveying department specialising in the recruitment market for Yorkshire. Max has already hit the ground running and is enjoying speaking to new people and delivering first-class customer service and experience.

In our Head Office, Tina Barker has joined our team on the Civil and Structural desk. Tina will be sourcing and building relationships with candidates and clients across the UK, with a passion for delivering high levels of customer service - she is the perfect fit to meet recruitment needs.

Office Outings:

To celebrate our business and to provide team building, head office took a trip to Newmarket Races! For some it was their first-time betting on horses and surprisingly there were more triumphs than losses.

We arrived on a blistering hot day ready to have a fun evening socialising, drinking, racing and a night of music and dancing. We had a lovely three course meal in their Summer House Restaurant with a TV nearby so we could wine and dine whilst placing bets. The buzz surrounding this continued when we saw Paloma Faith who came out on stage at 9pm. After belting out a few of her classic, it was time to head back to Framlingham with our winnings.

Conference:

At the end of June, we also had our annual conference! The excitement for this year’s conference had been building for a few months after the announcement that it was being held in Ibiza! In previous years it has been held in Leeds, The Algarve, Framlingham, and this year we were lucky enough to be taken abroad again.

After a short flight and introductions completed, the first day was spent bonding and enjoying the beautiful surrounding that Blue Marlin had on offer. With drinks flowing and a plethora of fresh seafood on offer, it was safe to say a good time was had by all (followed by a few sore heads the next morning).

The next morning consisted of sitting round the pool in our lovely hotel and then it was conference time! With old and new faces joining the company in such an exciting location, there was a definite buzz around the room. The conference this year consisted of general updates, company progressions, promotions, and awards! Everyone shared this excitement and celebrated everyone’s successes.

That afternoon we had a couple of boats waiting for us in the marina. For those who are more water sports oriented, there was the chance to go paddleboarding and snorkelling in the crystal-clear waters! Though the sea was a bit rough, it didn’t deter people from getting stuck in and jumping straight in.

After anchoring, we then hopped onto a couple of boats to be taken to the island of Formentera for lunch! Stopping at Juan y Andrea to eat, plate after plate of fresh seafood came out for us to try including an authentic Spanish seafood paella (which we can all agree was delicious).

Heading back to the boats and the island of Ibiza, the night carried on into the early part of the morning; all saving our tiredness for the flight home.

Conrad is continuing to grow! From starting out from one office in sleepy Suffolk, expanding to other cities and just passing our 21st anniversary, it is hard to ignore the successes this company has reached. We may be biased, but a lot of these successes come down to the hard-working, personable, and robust individuals who truly make the company what it is. Their efforts and determination to achieve deserve to be celebrated.

Career progressions:

Over the last couple of months, we have seen promotions and desk switch ups. A thoroughly well-deserved promotion was given to Will Stocks who has been promoted from Principal Consultant to Associate Director!

Joining Conrad Consulting in 2016, Will has gone from strength to strength. After smashing each promotion and taking everything in his stride, his dedication, passion, and loyalty has not gone unnoticed.

Our MEP and Sustainability sector has seen a slight change in the last month. Jamie Creed who previously worked on Civil and Structural has now joined the MEP desk, specialising in recruitment in London and the Southeast. If you need any assistance in this area, feel free to get in touch with Jamie today.
