Here at Conrad Consulting Head Office, we have been lucky enough to have Arlo Foster as an extra pair of hands to help around the office for the week, gaining some work experience.
Arlo was interested in getting some work experience in the recruitment industry and decided to give up a week of his school summer break to come and muck in with the team and gain some office skills to bulk up his CV and gain a better understanding of recruitment.
During the week, we aimed to give him an insight into recruitment, along with some insight into other functions that go into running a recruitment business such as administration, marketing and accounts. Arlo willingly approached each task head-on, including some of the more 'boring' jobs such as database cleansing.
Here's a few words from Arlo:
My week at Conrad is going really well and I’m sad that it’s nearly over. I really enjoy the slightly competitive side to the business that I haven’t seen so much at past places I have worked. All the staff are really friendly and have made me feel very much part of the team. I’ve done plenty of tasks while at Conrad that have all given me good experience and I can picture myself using again in the future. I have resourced for many different roles, this has taught me what goes into making a CV stand out and the experiences employers are looking for. I reconciled bank accounts which I feel may be useful in the future and I could see helping me secure a job in the future. I also helped clean up the database which has shown me that all jobs have boring bits but sometimes they are also the most rewarding to finish. I like looking at the analytics sides of things.
After a varied week at Conrad, we would like to wish all the best to Arlo in future exams and starting out your career!
